Coating material for advanced nuclear reactor components

Tungsten has 74 protons and has several different isotopes, including tungsten-182 and tungsten-184. These isotopes of tungsten can be the most reliable tracers for determining the material in the Earth’s core. Among them, tungsten-184 has 74 protons and 110 neutrons, accounting for about 30.64% of the total tungsten element, and is widely used in nuclear industry. For example, tungsten-184 is used as a coating material for reactor fuel assemblies to improve the reactor’s power generation efficiency.
