Copper 64 can be prepared in a variety of ways, among which the most common method is to use nickel 64 to produce copper 64. In the medical field, copper 64 has shown great potential. Studies have shown that intravenous injection of copper 64 can be used to non-invasively detect the occurrence and development of brain lesions through positron emission tomography (PET). In addition, copper 64 also plays an important role in radiotherapy. Compared with traditional external beam radiation therapy, copper 64-labeled targeted radiopharmaceuticals can accurately deliver radiation to the tumor site, minimizing damage to normal tissues.
