Injection for Water Coolant in Reactor Primary Circuit
- Product abundance: Zn-64<1%
- Product purity: 99.9%
- Product Form: Zinc Acetate/Zinc Oxide
Zinc with depleted Zn-64 isotope (less than 1% abundance, with a natural abundance of 48.9%) is injected into the reactor’s first circuit cooling water in the form of zinc oxide or zinc acetate, displacing cobalt, nickel, and other radionuclides to form a more stable oxide film that reduces the rate of corrosion of the material and the rate of release of corrosion products. In this case. it can reduce the radiation field outside the core and can further effectively reduce the level of the measurement of nuclear power workers.
Zinc has five stable isotopes: Zn-64, Zn-66, Zn-67, Zn-68 and Zn-70, of which Zn-64 is the most abundant (natural abundance is 48.6%).
